Adjusting the headlights on your KLR650 is super easy to do. Git’er done in three easy steps.
Adjusting the headlights on your 2008, 2009, 2010 + KLR650 is super easy to do.
The manual recommends shining your lights at a wall 25′ away, and adjusting for the high beam to be 2″ below the height of the lamps.
I tried that method, but after pulling onto the road, felt an additional adjustment was needed.
So if a dark street or parking lot is available, skip the wall and head for a “real world” condition.
Step 1) Remove the windshield in the garage. Just 4 phillips head screws.
Step 2) Find the lamp adjuster. Mine was fairly easy to turn by hand. Notches are supplied for a screwdriver and a nut is also available.
Step 3) Pull out in the street and turn the adjuster till the distance looks right. It takes several rotations of the nut to see any results… just keep going.
Brilliant – thanks
Yeah, a little trickier on the hi beam, had to take the bottom plate off and reach inside, very tight, was tempted to remove fairing.
